We’ve come a long way from our roots in Boston where we started with a pushcart filled with produce in 1928. But one thing has remained unwavering – our dedication to our customers.

“We’re proud of our long history, and thankful for our employees, customer and vendor partners.”

Our Story

Through hard work and integrity, the DiMare organization has grown exponentially to help our customers succeed.

DiMare Brothers

The DiMare story begins on the streets of Boston in 1928 with three brothers and their pushcart filled with produce.

The DiMare brothers quickly adapted to their customers’ needs, and became a repacking and wholesale operation adjacent to the Boston Terminal Market.

The company begins to market produce nationally through close alliances with tomato growers in both California and Florida. DiMare also became a year-round supplier for its customers, and was the first company in New England to import tomatoes from Cuba.

The brothers invested in their own farming operations by planting their own fields of tomatoes and opening their first packing house in Florida.

The DiMare brothers expanded their Boston tomato business by planting in San Joaquin Valley in Newman, California.

Paul and Dominic DiMare purchased a packinghouse in Florida, and began growing and shipping their own Florida tomatoes.
